Why a Vape Battery Gets Warm in a Purse
A vape battery can feel warm in a purse for ordinary reasons: heavy back-to-back use, recent charging, or the bag itself trapping heat near a warm spot such as a sunny car seat. Mild warmth during or just after use is normal for any rechargeable device. What is not normal is a device that becomes hot to the touch, swells, leaks, or gives off an odor. In that case, stop using it, move it somewhere safe, and let it cool. Keeping it out of direct sun and away from other heat sources prevents most of this.
The ordinary reasons it warms up
Most warmth is nothing unusual. A rechargeable battery produces a little heat whenever it works, so a run of long, frequent draws naturally warms the device, and it stays warm for a short while afterward. The bag adds to it. A closed purse traps warmth, and if it has been sitting in a hot car, on a beach towel, or in direct sun, the whole interior heats up and the device simply matches its surroundings. None of this is a malfunction on its own. The device cooling back to room temperature once you stop using it or take it out of the heat is exactly what you would expect.
When warmth is worth acting on
There is a difference between warm and hot. Mild, temporary warmth is normal, but a device that becomes genuinely hot to hold, that keeps heating when you are not using it, or that swells, leaks, or smells is telling you to stop. If that happens, set it on a hard, non-flammable surface away from other items and let it cool, and do not charge it again until you are sure it is fine.
A hot device during charging often points to a fault in the cable, the adapter, or the device itself, so disconnect and switch to a known-good cable. Keeping it cool in a bag
A few habits keep temperatures sensible. Do not leave the device in a parked car, on a windowsill, or anywhere in direct sun, since those are the spots that get hottest fastest. Give it a dedicated pocket rather than burying it against other electronics that also generate heat, and take it out of a hot bag when you can. Heat is also worth avoiding because it thins the e-liquid and can encourage leaks, and it does the battery no favors over time.
